Every summer, lives are changed at camp. Children see God for the first time or in a whole new way. They discover what Love is, conquer fears, and make new friends. Sending kids to camp sews seeds that become foundational to them, and we want to provide that opportunity to as many as possible.
In light of our 70th anniversary, we are making plans to expand our ministry opportunities to allow more children, adults and groups to spend time at the ‘Shore. We are grateful to seventy years of leaders, board members and supporters who have had the vision to make Lakeshore what it is today. We believe we are not finished yet, and we are open to what God has set for us to do next.
We are so blessed by the support we so generously receive from our churches and that so many of you are remaining faithful to the ministry of Lakeshore through Second Mile Giving.
We hope you will join us in envisioning what our next 70 years could be by participating in Lakeshore Giving Sunday on Sunday, June 10, or whichever Sunday works best for your ministry. I would like to encourage you to work with your congregation to take up a special collection or support our ministry in the way that works best for your church.
Unless otherwise indicated, gifts received through Lakeshore Giving Sunday will be allocated to our building fund to help us build programs, activities, spaces and more that will increase Lakeshore’s impact on the faith formation and leadership development of youth and adults in the Memphis Conference and allow more groups to utilize our space. We would be honored to have your support for this ministry.
