Lakeshore Campership Sunday

Lakeshore is embarking on its 72nd summer in ministry on the shores of the Tennessee River, and we are ready to welcome nearly 2,000 campers to this place for Peace Works!

We believe every child should have the opportunity to come to camp regardless of a parent’s ability to pay. If you have spent any time at Lakeshore, you know what a life-changing experience it can be. Here, campers find a loving community, life-long friends, learn leadership skills, and experience the love of God.

Unfortunately, about 15% of our family would not be able to experience this life-changing work without financial assistance. Over the last several years, our annual campership fund has grown to more than $100,000 to ensure every child in need of assistance can attend. Lakeshore is an extension of the great work in faith formation and leadership development being done every week by hundreds of churches in the Memphis Conference and beyond. It takes a village, and we are honored to do this important
work with the children and youth who are the future of this conference and the Church.

Lakeshore Campership Sunday is coming up on Sunday, June 9 (or whichever date your congregation selects), and we hope your congregation chooses to support this ministry as a vital part of faith formation by supporting the Campership Fund through an offering or gift. This year, our goal is $115,000 to cover all our campership needs.

Can we count on you to make sure every child who wants to attend camp has the opportunity? You can help by:

  • Working with your church to choose a Sunday to take up a love offering for the Campership Fund.
  • Presenting the Lakeshore Campership Fund as a potential honoree to your missions committee.
  • Organizing a speaking opportunity for Lakeshore to share its story with your congregation or church group.
  • Making an individual gift to the Lakeshore Campership Fund either by sending a check to camp or donating online.
