Our Response to the Coronavirus
We know you have anxiously been awaiting our decision about summer camp and we are pleased to announce that we will open camp as scheduled!
Lakeshore Camp and Retreat Center is first and foremost a family. We are a family of employees, volunteers, supporters, campers, parents, and donors who make up our community. The current health concerns are creating challenges for all of us, and we wanted to reach out to all of you, and let you know we recognize the gravity of the evolving situation and are working to do our part to protect the health and welfare of our community and those who are entrusted in our care.
We recognize that attending camp is much more than experiencing camp and having fun, but also represents an escape from daily lives, an opportunity to grow in one’s faith, a chance to get outdoors in creation and enjoy fresh air and exercise, and an unparalleled opportunity to encounter life, love, and the God of grace in a community of fellow believers.
For 73 years we have been committed to maintaining an environment that is safe and welcoming for all who step foot onto our property, and it is even more valuable now to continue that work. During this period of heightened concern, we are increasing these practices and providing additional opportunities for guests and staff to follow the recommended practices of regular handwashing, sanitizing, and social distancing. To read more about our Check-in and Health Protocols, please see our website.
With all of this being said, we are excited and ready to minister this summer. We are monitoring the CDC’s and the ACA’s evolving standards, as well as city and state government advisories, and will communicate with all of you as the situation progresses.
The safety of our campers, families, volunteers, and staff is, and always will be, one of our highest priorities.
Thank you for being a member of our family and supporting us during this difficult time.
Peace and Blessings,
Lakeshore Camp and Retreat Center
