Camp and retreat ministry is an integral part of spiritual formation and growth for both children and adults. Whether you want to bring your whole youth group to a conference-wide retreat, plan your own, bring a group for a volunteer project, or send your youth to one of the forty camps we have to choose from, we have something for everyone.
Summer Camp
Each summer, thousands of campers ages five to eighteen come to Lakeshore during our nine-week season for meaningful worships, lots of outdoor play, and opportunities to build relationships that last a lifetime, all programmed by extraordinary leadership.
We have more than forty camps to choose from, with several unique interest opportunities. There is something for everyone! Campers register as individuals, allowing everyone to choose the camp that sounds most interesting to him or her.
Our Retreats
The fun doesn’t end just because summer does. Lakeshore also hosts several other retreats open to all. We offer opportunities for youth groups, individual youths, and adults to spend a weekend getting closer to God and each other through a variety of activities, from outdoor skills to scrapbooking to spiritual and leadership development. There is something for everyone this retreat season.
Conference Retreats
As a connectional ministry of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church, we collaborate with the conference to provide programming for all churches and ministries therein.
We offer several youth retreats and encourage all youth groups to come together for these retreats so that these young Methodists can see the connectivity of this denomination firsthand. The conference youth council assists with the leadership of these retreats, giving conference youth a leadership experience that is beneficial to the area as a whole.
Lakeshore also hosts several adult retreats open to the whole conference. These weekend experiences foster relationships conference-wide and provide an opportunity to grow deeper in faith together.
Custom Retreats
If your church is looking for a place to do your own thing, we have plenty of custom opportunities. You may rent space and program your own retreat, or you can have us program it for you! There are so many activities to choose from to make your retreat a memorable experience.
Volunteer Opportunities
We love our volunteers, and we are always looking for groups to help sustain the future of camp by assisting us with various volunteer projects. We are always humbled and honored by the people who want to roll up their sleeves and make a long-lasting impact on camp. Whether you are interested in bringing a youth group, a Sunday school class, or a group of folks handy with tools, we have a project for you.
