Jr./Sr. High Retreat
Fall Retreat: November 12-14, 2021
30 Hour Famine
This retreat will give youth an opportunity to grow in their awareness of the hunger and poverty that one billion children experience in God’s world. The 30-hour famine includes fasting from food for 30 hours, participating in thought-provoking sessions that remind us that God calls us to share our resources and pray for all God’s children.
All participants should begin fasting at 1:00 p.m. Friday of the retreat. Juice and water will be provided at regular intervals during the fast. Everyone is required to drink plenty of liquids.

At some point in each United Methodist youth’s life, the decision to claim the name of Christ for oneself and deciding whether to live a faithful, committed life becomes important to each of them. Lakeshore’s confirmation retreats are designed to help with this very important task.

We know that young campers look up to their counselors and aspire to be just like them. At Lakeshore’s Counselor Training Camp, we take a weekend to guide our counselors-to-be towards the type of leaders that parents and children want them to be.
15-18-year-old future counselors | $225 $190 $155
Each church is asked to provide adult counselors to stay in the cabin with their group, as well as participate with their youth during sessions and free time. In order to follow Safe Sanctuary guidelines, we recommend two adults of the same gender of the youth they are bringing. However, at a minimum, each group needs to bring one counselor per six youth of the same gender. Counselors must be at least 4 years older than the oldest youth they will be supervising.
This does NOT include Counselor Training! You do not need or have to send adults with your kids from your church if they are coming to the Counselor Training Retreat.
