DayShore

DayShore is a partnership between Lakeshore and Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference churches to offer Day Camp. This program is a wonderful way to revamp Vacation Bible School into camp on the road. For many churches, this opportunity allows them to turn Vacation Bible School over to summer camp professionals and eliminates the scramble for volunteers available during the day. Through this partnership, we welcome church volunteers and help, but all the planning is finished before we arrive, using our summer camp curriculum.

During DayShore, we pack up all things camp into a 15-passenger van and take Lakeshore on the road to one of our partner churches. In its first year, DayShore served nearly 300 campers at eight different churches. This program is a great way to introduce Lakeshore to kids that are nervous about attending sleep away camp or cannot afford a whole week of camp. Many churches used this opportunity to invite kids from the neighborhood and surrounding community. We believe this is one way Lakeshore can be about the family business away from camp property.

Church Payment of Camper Fees

Many churches pitch in to help cover the cost of their children attending camp. Campers whose churches help covering cost will register online through our registration portal. They will need to put down a $50 deposit and indicate that which church will be paying part or all of their registration fee. At the end of the summer, Lakeshore will send the church an invoice for all campers indicating church payment from that church. If the church is paying the full registration fee, it is up to the church to reimburse the campers’ $50 deposit if they choose.
