DayShore is a day camp partnership between Lakeshore and churches across the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference. Our goal is to share the joy of camp with local communities. By partnering with churches, together we can reach children who might not have the means to attend sleep-away camp or who might not be connected to a faith community. Lakeshore staff will pack up a truck and trailer with everything needed for a week of camp, including curriculum and exciting activities. The DayShore Director, as well as Lakeshore counselors, come prepared to lead a quality program, leaving campers with a sense of belonging, feeling loved, and growing in their relationship with God. The churches are asked to provide a safe place to run camp, meals for the week, including lunches for the camp day and dinners for the staff, lodging for the staff, and volunteers to help things run smoothly.
DayShore served nearly 300 campers at eight different churches in its first year through our partnerships. Two teams hit the road the following year to serve 12 churches and nearly 500 campers. By the fourth year, we served 16 churches and 802 campers!
